Winter flowers

Now I know there aren't exactly a lot of flowers blooming outside in the winter but I'm bringing you some lovely winter themed flowers anyways!  I am totally in love with the newest mood board!  Take a look.

Isn't it gorgeous??  One of these years I'm going to decorate my Christmas tree in all blue and silver. It'll have to wait until the kids move out though!  Our tree is currently a hodge podge of assorted ornaments and they each have their own collection I add to every year.  They get to take them with when they move out!

Let me get back to my project and go ahead and share it with you!

When I saw all those luscious shades of blue I knew I just had to color up some flowers!  This flower is from the Time to Blossom set.  This is most definitely one of my absolutely favorite sets from Kennedy Grace Creations.  I colored the flowers with Copic markers using BG000, BG01, BG05 and a touch of BG07.  I colored the leaves using T1, T3 and T5.  Aren't they lovely?

To create the background I started with a piece of watercolor paper.  I used a snowflake stencil and distress inks to sponge two different sizes of snowflakes.  I then splattered a little water mixed with Pearl ex on the snowflakes and dabbed it up with a paper towel.  Then I thinned down silver paint and splattered that all over the background as well.

After it was all dry I heat embossed the sentiment in silver.  I cut out the watercolor paper using a stitched die and adhered it to the plaid paper.  I love this paper from Doodlebug!  This was all then layered onto a blue card base.  I added sequins from the Lemon Sorbet mix.  As a final touch I colored over the flowers with the clear Spectrum Noir sparkle marker.  Check out all that shimmer in the close up!

I can't help myself so I have one more picture for you!

I hope you find some inspiration and will play along with the mood board.  We would love to see your work!  See all our links at the bottom of this post.

One Layered Card - Featuring Kennedy Grace Creations: Time To Blossom

Hey folks! I'm back to share a card from the Kennedy Grace Creations New Release! The stamp set I used today is the Time To Blossom Stamp Set . I really enjoyed the simplicity of this set. You could totally heat emboss this and do some fabulous watercoloring, but Copic's seems to be the way to go for me lately so that's what I did. I started by stamping the image twice on my card panel. The only masking I did was a tiny bit on the stem. The name of the game was to keep this super simple folks. As I said, I colored the images with Copic's. Another thing I enjoy about the Time To Blossom Stamp Set is that you could choose any colors you wanted. I chose red-violets and yellow-greens, but seriously peeps, whatever floats your boat and it will looks great! To finish off my card, I used a added a couple of hand drawn lines to the background and I stamped a portion of a stamp that is also in the Time To Blossom Stamp Set . That's it! Easy peasy. T
